About Buxton Civic Association

Buxton Civic Association is a registered charity, established in 1968 to preserve the fine architecture of Buxton, and its natural and formal landscapes, for the local community and all our visitors.

In our early years, we fought to save the Octagon from demolition and, over time, we have acquired the fine woodlands surrounding the town from Chatsworth Estates. The upkeep of these two hundred acres of mature woodland remains one of our main tasks.

> Ring of Trees is a publication mapping walks around our woodlands for you to enjoy.

We own Poole's Cavern and brought Go-Ape to Buxton three years ago. We are always looking for new ways to improve our woodlands for education, sport and recreation.

> Join us and have your say about the future of Buxton.
